ABOUT

Our story

Sakti started when its founders noticed a pattern. E-commerce managers were spending a disproportionate part of their day on routine writing: product listing updates, templated customer replies, order exception notes. Not difficult work — but slow, repetitive, and easy to get wrong under pressure.

At the same time, AI drafting tools were improving quickly. But most advice on adopting them came from technology vendors, not from people who understood the pace and complexity of a busy Shopee or Lazada seller centre. There was a gap between "AI can write" and "here is how your team uses it safely without creating compliance problems or eroding customer trust."

We set up in Bukit Bintang to fill that gap. Our work is advisory, not technical. We do not build software. We read how a team currently operates, look at where AI drafting could ease the load, and then help the team adopt it in a way that keeps staff firmly in the editing seat before anything is published or sent.

Every engagement is designed with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act and the Consumer Protection Act in mind from the start — not added as a compliance footnote at the end.

Our mission

Help Malaysian e-commerce teams work more fluidly — using AI where it genuinely helps, and keeping people responsible for what customers read and receive.

Our approach

We read before we recommend. Every engagement starts with understanding how a team actually operates — not with a generic AI implementation plan.

Our values

Honest assessments. Written briefs, not presentations. Staff always edits. No outputs sent or published without a person deciding to do so.

STANDARDS

How we work

PDPA-by-default

We map which customer data is involved in each workflow before recommending any AI drafting step. Compliance is not an afterthought.

Written deliverables only

Every engagement produces a readable brief your team can act on. We do not present slides and leave — we hand over a document.

Read before recommending

We look at your actual copy, your actual enquiry queue, and your actual exception logs before suggesting where AI drafting fits.

Marketplace policy alignment

Templates are reviewed against current Shopee and Lazada seller policies. We update them if policies change during an engagement.

Bilingual training

All training is delivered in English and Bahasa Malaysia so no team member is excluded from understanding how the tools work.

Board-ready reporting

Quarterly Stewardship clients receive a yearly written summary written in plain language, suitable for sharing with senior leadership or boards.

EXPERTISE

AI drafting for Malaysian e-commerce — what we know

Malaysian online retail operates across a mix of platforms — Shopify and WooCommerce for independent storefronts, Shopee and Lazada for marketplace reach. Each platform has its own content requirements, its own seller policies, and its own communication norms. AI drafting tools that work well in one context can produce output that reads strangely or violates policy in another.

Sakti's advisors have hands-on experience with all four platforms. We understand the difference between writing a product listing optimised for Shopee search and drafting a customer enquiry reply that fits Lazada's seller rating criteria. This context is what makes our pilot templates useful rather than generic.

Customer data handling is a particular focus. When AI drafting tools access customer correspondence or order data to generate summaries, there are questions about what data is processed, where it is stored, and how long it is retained. Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act, these are not abstract legal concerns — they are operational decisions that e-commerce managers need to make deliberately. We help teams make those decisions with clear information rather than defaulting to whatever a software vendor's terms of service allow by default.

The Consumer Protection Act adds another layer for businesses selling to Malaysian consumers. Replies drafted with AI assistance still carry the seller's legal obligations for accuracy and fairness. Our review process checks that AI-drafted copy meets those obligations before templates are handed to the team.
